The world's wealthiest people often spend hundreds of millions, if not billions, on superyachts. Some of these superyachts are equipped with swimming pools, basketball courts, and even concert halls. Eleven phenomenally expensive superyachts Aquila The Aquila, which is estimated to be worth over $115 million, belongs to Walmart heiress Ann Walton Kroenke. The yacht is a mammoth 281 feet long. It was stationed in Antibes during the Cannes Film Festival in May where admirers took snaps. Octopus The Octopus, a 414-foot yacht, once owned by the estate of Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen has 41 suites and cost over $150 million to build. The Octopus is equipped with a pool, two helicopters, a movie theatre, a basketball court and a recording studio. This yacht was also pictured in May during the Cannes Film Festival. The yacht is now reportedly for sale for just under £270 million. Al Mirqab The Al Mirqab can house 24 people. It was built for Qatar's former Prime Minister, Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani. The yacht won the Motor Yacht of the Year award in 2009. It has two VIP suites that each have a bathroom, living room, and double bedroom. It is estimated to be worth just short of $200 million. Dilbar The Dilbar is the world's heaviest superyacht. It was built for Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov at a cost of $200 million. The yacht weighs 15,917 tons (over 31 million pounds). The Dilbar has two helipads, an indoor swimming pool, and 3,800 square meters of living space. Al Said The Al Said yacht was built for the Sultan of Oman in 2008. It is 155m long. The only thing that is publicly known about its facilities is that there is a concert hall on the yacht that can fit a 50-piece orchestra. It set the Sultan back approximately $230 million. Dubai The Dubai yacht is 532 feet long and is currently owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Emir of Dubai. The superyacht has a mosaic swimming pool, circular staircase, and helipad. It can also house 24 guests. The yacht cost over $300 million. Motor Yacht A Motor Yacht A, which is worth more than $300 million, belongs to Russian Andrey Melnichenko . The yacht has seven luxurious cabins which accommodate 14 guests. It also has three swimming pools, one of which has a glass floor. Serene Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia bought the Serene Yacht for $430 million in 2015 . The Serene is the largest yacht to have ever launched into Italian waters. Rising Sun Billionaire entertainment mogul, David Geffen, has bought the Rising Sun in 2010 for just over $450 million. Geffen originally shared the yacht with Oracle founder Larry Ellison. The 454-foot superyacht comes with a basketball court and can host up to 18 guests. The Obamas stayed on the yacht in August 2017. Azzam The $465 million Azzam yacht is supposedly owned by the Abu Dhabi royal family although that has never been confirmed. The yacht is also rumoured to have its own submarine with a missile defence system. The Azzam is the largest superyacht in the world, at 590 feet long. Eclipse Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich bought the Eclipse in 2010. The yacht comes with two helicopter pads, 24 guest cabins, a nightclub, two swimming pools, and several hot tubs. The Chelsea Football Club owner splashed out just shy of $1.5 billion on the mega yacht.
